Let's get back to basics...

Yesterday I saw a mom (or a grandmother, who can tell these days) with two kids scrunched in the back of her Maserati. Are you kidding me? Then I saw a small child in the back of a convertible Bentley without a hat on doing his best to fight the wind sheer. Saliva coming out of the sides of his little mouth streaming across his rosy cheeks and tears coming from his sweetly clenched shut eyes. I know it was hot out but come on...

Whatever happened to the station wagon? And when did the quest for status start to effect the children...Yeah, I know, that was a REALLY dumb question!

NO. NO. NO

NO. NO. NO.

YES. YES. YES.

Plan ahead...

On this last weekend of summer I am overwhelmed with my need for a vacation!

The constant pursuit of summer continues...

Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands

Formentera, Spain

Lamu, Kenya

Phuket, Thailand

Hmm. Where to go? Time to start planning for a February trip. Time to start saving. Time to start figuring out what to pack...you think I am kidding? You don't know this Seaton Girl! I am currently gathering summer sale rack items to put aside for the next tropical trip.
I just bought a fabulous Eres bikini (on sale!!), a great Seaton linen dress (on sale!!) and a pair of khaki Current/Elliott shorts (on sale!!). In case you missed it...I bought some great items ON SALE!!!

Words of advise...Always shop for a vacation...It will force you to actually take a vacation!!

Easy breezy...

Until now...I never fancied myself an SJP fan. Her Sex and the City looks all seem so contrived, unwearable and unapproachable to me. Sorry, but the thought of wearing Manolo's for more that 15 minutes makes me start to sweat.

That said, I LOVE her everyday looks. Little or no make-up, 2nd day post blow dried or tousled hair and simple pattern-less tee's with a splash of color. Is she in Gap and J. Crew or the Row and Current/Elliott? Either way she makes it look so easy and chic. These looks are what mortals wear everyday. Besides, I will take my high fashion in the form of a hot pink bag, cashmere leopard scarf or trendy trilby hat any day...fewer corns!

She is a Seaton and the City girl.

Happy. Sexy. Simple.

Relaxed. Casual. Stylish.

Easy. Go-to. Effortless.

Basic. Comfortable. Unpretentious.

Clean. Current. Uncomplicated.

Cozy. Un "done". Perfect.

Piece of cake.

Fun, fun Friday...

Perfect...An excuse to shop! New fall fashions. Mingling with a great crowd. Perhaps a bit of champagne? Sounds like a good way to start the weekend!

See you there...I will be the one politely grabbing for the Gryphon, IRO, Current/Elliott and Seaton cashmere boyfriend cardigans.

While in BH, after you are exhausted from shopping, walk over to Bouchon and relax with a cocktail. For a french inspired restaurant they sure do serve a great margarita!

Yummy, yummy, yummy...

So much fun last night...

I was in Santa Monica
(2000 Main Street)

Eating here.

After drinks at Katsuya I met some fun friends for dinner at the amazing La Grande Orange. Casual. Hip. Warm. Perfect service. Mexican/Japanese hybrid. It is a great restaurant to hang out, eat yummy food and enjoy Santa Monica. This place is the anti Katsuya...IN A VERY, VERY GOOD WAY.

Started and finished off with red sangria. Ate too much/many guacamole and chips, sweet potato rolls, spicy tuna rolls, soft tacos and the incredible Evil Thai Princess salad (minced chicken, peanuts, lemongrass and kaffir lime).

It was my first time there but it WILL NOT be my last. If you, like me, have found it hard to find a comfortable, adult, clean place that will seat you when you want to eat (as opposed to 6:00 or 9:45)...Then you are welcome, I have done the legwork for you!

By the way, next time someone recommends Katsuya, Toscana or Giorgio's, suggest La Grande Orange and wear your flip flops!
